When you meet Monika, she is like a breath of fresh air. She has a warm, welcoming smile and an easy presence which opens people to her readily. She is positive and optimistic, but pragmatic as much as excited about the possibilities around her. Definitely a ‘glass half full’ kind of woman – but a realist who is solidly secure in her own integrity – Monika owns who and what she is. This, I think, is why she is able to help others “know their path and realise their vision” in life, too. It is this confidence and willingness to be open and explore that she shares in all her interactions and that her clients seek.
Granted, it wasn’t always this way. This security-of-self was not achieved without some hard work and lots of learning.
Like so many today, Monika has faced times where she knew she had to make a choice and did not trust her ability to make the right decision. She had one career change due to a corporate reorganization. Her job simply went away – leaving her lots of decisions to make, but not by choice. To hear one’s own needs, to truly listen and evaluate and take action = a pivot point which can’t be ignored.
Previous changes in her life included a move from Europe to Canada and leaving her horticultural career – not easy choices, but at that time they were her own! It was her plan, her destination and her action that brought her where she wanted to go. Going from ‘lessons learned’ to ‘lessons lived’ is a great event!
Once she encountered the concept of becoming a Professional Coach, Monika knew it was exactly what she wanted. As she studied and trained, and then walked through the early stages of her professional coaching practice, all her extensive and varied life experiences blended into the foundation she now offers her clients.
Today, Monika is in a great place – on solid ground – which she has claimed for herself. Is life perfect? How boring would that be? There will always be challenges, but Monika trusts herself enough to allow for the process of exploring emotions and feeling them all. Her empathy, resourcefulness, and awareness give her great effectiveness as a Coach. She knows that’s what it takes so her perspective can be true, and her ultimate choice of directions absolutely clear. It is a skill as much as an art, and it is how she can help others realize their own visions and find their clear directions, too.
